An industry benchmark
MISMO provides a common set of RON standards that can help organizations compare technology providers.
ATC Verify is not currently MISMO RON Certified. That is a deliberate business decision, not an attempt to blur the difference between legal requirements and a private industry certification. We believe customers and partners deserve to know exactly what a certification means — and what it does not.
MISMO RON Certification can be valuable for organizations that use it as part of technology procurement or vendor due diligence. We do not dismiss that value. We simply believe its role should be described accurately.
MISMO provides a common set of RON standards that can help organizations compare technology providers.
Certification includes review of a provider's documentation, procedures, policies, and system demonstration against MISMO's standards.
Some lenders, title companies, investors, and enterprise organizations may independently choose to require MISMO certification from vendors.
MISMO itself states that its RON certification does not verify compliance with any particular federal, state, county, or other governing or regulatory body's laws, regulations, rules, or requirements. Florida separately defines the requirements for online notarization and RON service providers.
Certification takes money, time, documentation, review, and ongoing maintenance. At this stage, ATC Verify is prioritizing the work that directly affects every notarization: legal requirements, identity verification, document integrity, secure digital signing, audio-video records, journals, access controls, retention, reliability, and the customer experience.
We distinguish obligations imposed by Florida law from optional private certifications and prioritize the requirements that govern the actual notarization.
Identity, encryption, protected signing credentials, tamper-evident final documents, access controls, and auditable records are product responsibilities — not marketing decorations.
If a lender, title company, investor, or enterprise relationship requires MISMO certification and the opportunity justifies it, we can reevaluate the decision.
ATC Verify will state its certification status plainly. Trust is better served by accurate claims than by language designed to make one standard sound like another.
We will reevaluate MISMO certification when customer requirements, enterprise partnerships, market access, or changes in applicable requirements create a meaningful reason to pursue it. Until then, our resources stay focused on building a secure, reliable Florida RON platform.
This page describes ATC Verify's current certification position and general compliance approach. It is not legal advice and does not determine whether a particular lender, title company, investor, transaction, or document will accept remote online notarization.
